Register for GRE

GRE is a test conducted for the students who wants to complete their graduation from USA. To apply for GRE, you can collect the information, test schedule form and Test request form from “GRE information Bulletin” which is available free of cost from GRE Prometric Centres and USEFI. If you are interested and have enough preparation to take the test then you can register for the test.

There are four ways to register for the GRE test:

Register through Phone:

You can make a call in Prometric Office in New Delhi, before 12:00 in noon and fill your GRE test registration. Make sure you have registered before three business working days to your GRE test dates.

Register through Online:

Visit the site www.gre.org and make your registration.

Register through Fax:

If you have selected the mode of GRE registration through Fax, make sure that you have register before seven days from the test date.

Register through Mail or Courier:

Fill the form and prepare a demand draft and send to the Prometric Office in New Delhi either hand to hand or by registered mail/courier. You should send your payment and application form before three weeks to the test date.

After receiving your mail, an appointment letter along with the confirmation of date, time and location is sent to your address. Make sure that the letter should reach to you before three working days from your test date and if not contact the office for the same. Normally, you must receive your admit card within a week time after applying. Remember to keep copy of your application form and payment draft with you.

Things to Remember While Registering

There is lot many things a student should keep in mind while registering for the GRE test. Below are the points to remember while registering for GRE:

Test should be taken well before time so your GRE scores will be received in time with your application.
Keep in mind that all the test centers are not always open in all the dates. So remain updated about the available dates on your preferred center by visiting GRE online registration system.
GRE Register test well in advance as the test centers fills quickly and you will not get your convenient date and location that you want.
Make sure that spelling of your name should be exactly same with that of the other identification documents that you are going to present at the testing center. If the spelling would not match you will not get permission to take the test and you fees will be forfeited.
You are not allowed to transfer your GRE test registration from one center to other or to some other individual.
You GRE fees include your demand of sending the score to maximum four graduate institutions or fellowship sponsors. You will be asked the list of your score recipient either at the time of registration or on the day of the test at the test center.
Late registration will be available after one week from the normal registration dates. But you have to pay the late registration fees of US$ 25.
An option is available for you the free registration from GRE Search Service on the day of your computer based GRE general test or you can register for the Paper based GRE general test. You can even sign separately at any time. The GRE Search service matches participating graduate institution and fellowship sponsors with the prospective students.
There is a new service ETS® Personal Potential Index (ETS® PPI) that is started from July 2009. This is the service is altogether a web based evaluation system that helps you to provide information about main six personal attributes from multiple evaluators to institution. These personal attributes (communication skills, teamwork, knowledge and creativity, planning and organization, resilience, integrity and ethics) are vital for the success in graduate and other professional school. You can send four ETS PPI evaluation reports for which GRE do not charge any extras from you.
