Re-Taking GRE Test

The student can appear only once in a single calendar month and more than five times in a calendar year appearing for both paper based or computer based GRE test. This rule is even applicable if you have cancelled your GRE scores of your previous test. If this rule is not followed by the student and has taken GRE for more number of times, then the GRE scores of last test will not be considered by any educational institution and the test fees will get forfeited.

However, the student can take GRE exams for second times, if the GRE score obtained in the previous test are unusually low and does not reflects your true capabilities. If your GRE scores are too less in comparison with all other academic scores, it is beneficial to give GRE examination for the second time. However, those who wish to re-take the GRE test should keep in mind that there large number of students who have actually lowered down their scores in the second test. There are only few test takers who get unusual increase in their scores on GRE retaking. Also consider that the test results obtained within past five years will be considered.
