Undergraduate Program

Almost all colleges of USA require a minimum of 12 years of formal education. That is in India one has to complete class 12th examination or any equivalent course. The valid degrees include: Indian School Certificate, Intermediate Certificate, Higher School Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate, and All India Senior School Certificate. Under this program degree available is BS, BE, BA etc.

Graduate Programs

Most of the school in USA prefers a minimum of 16 years of formal education or any equivalent bachelors four year degree program. In India this implies courses like engineering or other such courses. In India there also exist three year degree program for which the equivalent the USA undergraduate program can be achieved by completing one year of masters degree program in India. The courses that comes undergraduate programs are MS, MA, and MBA etc.

There are some universities which accept three year Indian graduation degree for very few programs. Confirmation can only be obtained by directly contacting the universities concerned.

Other important thing that has to be noted is likewise:

• Part time diploma programs and professional programs like CA, ICWA are not accepted by most of the universities.
• One year education is not acceptable of a two year master’s degree program unless it is recognized by the university exam.
