Exploring USA
Exploring USA is one of the prime goals of every foreign national who want to enter in the country. USA covers around 3,000 miles from east to west and 1,500 miles from north to south which does not includes the states of Alaska which is almost larger than France and Hawaii which is half in magnitude of Holland. It is not easy to understand it over all, the distance between the two places is very high and landscapes are very wide. A geographical location of the education institution plays an important role in when a student aims to pursue higher education in USA.
Time Zone:
There are four different time zones in the U.S.:
- EST =Eastern Time Zone
- CST =Central Time Zone
- MST =Mountain Time Zone
- PST =Pacific Time Zone
Daylight Saving Time:
Daylight Saving Time is also called as Summer Time in many places of the world. The main function of Daylight Saving Time is to make the better access of daylight. We are changing our clocks at the time of summer months to move an hour of daylight from the morning to evening. Daylight Saving Time starts in USA at 2:00 am on the first Sunday on the month of April. This time, turns back to the standard time of 2:00 am at the last Sunday of the month of October. Each time zone of USA is at the different time.

Weather Information:
USA is a wide country. The whether conditions differs from region to region. The western and southern regions are comparitively warm than eastern and northern regions. The Northeast region is very cold in the winter having heavy snowfalls while in the summer it has pleasant climate. The Southwest is extremely hot in summer. Summers are comparatively short and bearable than winters. So students should be aware about the climatic conditions where they are going to stay and especially if their medical condition does not allows them to stay in particular climate. They should select such universities where they feel comfortable to live and study.
Following are the six climatic regions of US:
North West Pacific: Oregon and Washington lying in this region have humid and wet climate. Temperatures are gentle whole year having a temperature of average 40 degrees Fahrenheit.
Mid/South Pacific: States like California and Nevada generally have good temperatures during whole year. The mountainous such as Colorado, Montana, and Wyoming, are very cold in winter, having climate below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
Midwest: States like Kansas and Iowa have excellent summer season but have heavy snowfalls with very chilly winds in winter season. The temperature goes down around -50 degree Fahrenheit along with accumulation of snow after the heavy snowstorm of around 30 to 40 inches.
Northeast: Maryland and Pennsylvania states have bright and temperate summers become pretty hot for a short time. Rainfall is very beautiful here while winters have reasonable snowfalls with freezing rain.
Southeast: Georgia and Louisiana states lying in this region have pleasing spring and season falls with very hot and humid summers. There are some snow and freezing rain during winter, but it is only for a short time but overall winters are usually quite mild.
Southwest: Arizona and New Mexico are the southwest states that are very hot with desert areas. Winters are generally short in duration and have large amount of freezing rains instead of having snow.
