Overview of GRE

What is GRE?
The Full-form of GRE is Graduate Record Examination. GRE is a critical test for the students who are ambitious to complete their graduation in USA. GRE is taken to check the aptitude of the students especially for the students who wish to pursue enroll to a graduate program in the field of sciences, social sciences and humanities.

GRE is mandatory for the students who wish to earn their graduate or post graduate degree in US, Canada, UK or Australia. The test scores are judged by the admission panel to fellowship to complement undergraduate scores which are required for graduate studies in USA. GRE score is the common measurement to compare qualification of the student gives a common platform to evaluate grades and recommendations of the student before taking admission in any of the USA educational institution.

In USA, GRE test is taken in the CAT i.e. Computer Adaptive Testing format to oppose the concept of paper-pencil test. The CAT is different with that of paper-pencil testing in many ways. But GRE is fine-tuned in such a way that the test takers should get around the same score using CAT similar to that of taking any other paper- pencil test.

Governing body of GRE
Educational Testing Services (ETS) is the administrating and measuring organization for GRE test. It is one of the largest private education testing and measuring organization. ETS is the organization that forms standardized TOEFL and GRE exams in USA. It conducts GRE and TOEFL test in around 110 countries.
